SheSTEM Launches Industry Attachment Program with BSRM to Strengthen Female Participation in STEM

SheSTEM has partnered with BSRM to launch its flagship Industry Attachment Program, commencing on 28th February 2026. This initiative is designed to strengthen industry–academia linkages while creating structured, hands-on learning opportunities for female STEM students in Bangladesh.

The first cohort includes 18 female STEM students who will gain direct exposure to industrial operations, technical systems, and corporate environments, equipping them with practical competencies required to transition from academic training to professional STEM careers.

Strategic Step Towards Institutionalizing Structured Industry Experience

The collaboration between SheSTEM and BSRM reflects a shared commitment to nurturing the next generation of female STEM leaders. Through this program, participants will engage in immersive industry learning within one of Bangladesh’s leading manufacturing ecosystems. The launch marks a strategic step toward institutionalizing structured industry exposure for female students, an intervention critical to reducing the transition gap between graduation and employment in STEM sectors.

Structured Industry Exposure at BSRM

Rather than a purely observational experience, the Industry Attachment is designed as a guided learning process with structured mentorship, reflection sessions, and applied exposure to real-time operational environments.

Ensuring Industry-Academia Collaboration

A persistent structural challenge in Bangladesh’s STEM ecosystem is the disconnect between university curricula and industry requirements. This partnership aims to bridge that gap by aligning academic knowledge with practical, demand-driven skill sets.

Through this initiative, SheSTEM and BSRM seek to:

  • Enhance workplace readiness among female STEM students
  • Increase industry engagement with academic institutions
  • Develop replicable models for experiential learning
  • Support gender-inclusive workforce development

The program sets out a precedent for how private-sector actors can actively contribute to strengthening the national STEM talent pipeline.

Building the Next Generation of Female STEM Leaders

By beginning with a focused cohort of 18 students, SheSTEM and BSRM are prioritizing depth of engagement, quality mentorship, and measurable impact, laying the foundation for future expansion. As Bangladesh advances its industrial and technological ambitions, inclusive participation in STEM sectors will be critical to sustaining growth. The SheSTEM–BSRM partnership signals how industry leadership and structured programming can contribute to systemic change. This initiative represents more than a collaboration; it is a commitment to building a more equitable, future-ready STEM ecosystem in Bangladesh.
