Empowering Female STEM Graduates 
SheSTEM organised a co-design session at Khulna University of Engineering & Technology (KUET) on September 27, 2024. The event, held in collaboration with the KUET Business and Entrepreneurship Club (KBEC), aimed to bridge the gap between academia and industry by developing a career track in “Data Science & Analytics” for STEM graduates.
Led by Shams Asif Chowdhury, Lead of the Skills Program at 10 Minute School, and his team, the session focused on gathering student feedback to align the course with their professional goals. The discussions emphasised the need for a balanced approach combining theoretical knowledge with practical, hands-on experience, ensuring graduates are well-prepared for real-world challenges in data science.
Sadman Mohammad Nasif, President of KBEC, and Prof. Dr. Helal Al Nahiyan, Chief Moderator of KBEC and Head of the Department of Mechatronics Engineering, were present to lend their support. During the workshop, students expressed a strong desire for the course to include opportunities to work directly on industry projects, particularly as part of internships or capstone experiences toward the end of the program.
The session attracted over 100 participants who actively engaged in discussions on how the course could be shaped to better meet their educational and career aspirations. Niloy Biswas, Senior Executive of Data at 10 Minute School, also provided expert insights on the rapidly evolving data science industry, shedding light on emerging trends and essential skills for future graduates. The event concluded with an interactive Q&A, where students had the chance to seek advice from industry professionals.
